In a country of endless festivities with religious and cultural significance, Bohol has several
festivals and community events that are must-see for tourists. The Sandugo Festival is a spectacular month-long celebration featuring cultural and

historical presentations, agro-industrial fairs, pageants and other variety shows.The highlight of the festival is the street dancing competition where contingents show off their ingenuity and creative movements. The Sandugo, which means "One Blood",is a commemoration of the historic blood compact.


The Ubifest in January celebrates the harvest of the purple yam, known as "Ube" with a display ube
varieties and search for best food items utilizing ube. Bolibongkingking Festival is a music and dance festival of folkloric tradition from the town of Loboc. The event takes its name from the sounds and rhythm of local drums known as "gimbaw."


With lavish preparation in food and entertainment, each town in Bohol marks an annual fiesta. Town-based festivals; such as the Pahinungod Festival in Calape, the Sidlakasilak Festival in Loon, the Sinu-og Estokada Festival in Jagna,


and the Sambat Maskara  Regatta in Loay; are also being held in time for the fiesta celebration.
