Applying Gradient text in photoshop

In photoshop we can apply for gradient blending effect for text. In my tutorial i write "CINDY" as my text sample. Gradient effect is somewhat like your combining 2 or more colors to a certain layer. Here i applied my gradient effect to this text. However you might have an option to customize your own

gradient combination color. There is a difference between a gradient and a plain text only because having this one look more attractive to put as a title. Much more captivating to look forward too. Follow this step carefully.

Step 1:
Open you photoshop to any version you have. Then go to File > New. A new canvas size will appear to set your new canvas.

Step 2:
As default Width has = 1024 and Height has = 768 in terms of pixels. Just click the Ok button automatically. You can apply your own canvas size later.

Step 3:
Having our new Canvas we start typing a text. As my sample i wrote "CINDY" i chose Arial Black as my font style.

Step 4:
As what i've observed my text are too small. I forgot to adjust my font size before typing. But in these case this is what i most like having a transformation to a layer. To adjust your own size with this text. Just press CTRL + T then a box will appear.

Step 5:
In this step will going to pull the box right size to adjust the size of this text to see larger than the previous. If you can chose your own size then hit Enter in your keyboard.

Step 6:
Go to your layer box located at the right panel of your screen. Find and click the layer named "CINDY". Once you have selected this. The layer will change into blue. Like this.

Step 7:
Add a layer style. Now select Gradient Overlay

Step 8:
Follow this image carefully. Click the drop down arrow to have a multiple selection of gradient. Then select the yellow/orange color combination.

Step 9:
Now click the encircled gradient. So that we can customize our own color combination for our text. When you click that correctly a box will appear afterwards.

Step 10:
First click the encircled image below then 2nd click below the first encircled image. So that we change the value of color into your own selected color. After choosing then click Ok button.

Step 11:
Here how it looks for changing the value # of colors. Value # like " ffff00 ", "#ff6e02" and others.
change everything. Change the 3 slider small box to your own color value #. Just click that box. For changing color value just refer Step 10.
