Do you know that the first programmer is a woman? Yes, it's true. The first programmer is a female named Ada Lovelace. She is mainly know for having written a description of Charles Babbage's early mechanical general purpose computer,
the analytical engine. She is today appreciated as the "first programmers" since she wrote programs that is, encoding an algorithm in a form that a machine could process; for a machine that Babbage had not yet built. She also foresaw the capability of computers to go beyond more calculating or number-crunching while others, including Babbage himself, focused only on these capabilities. Ada Lovelace may be regarded as the first programmer; but if you have reae closely on some computer history books, she was supposed to be the leading programmer of Babbage's Analytical Engine which didn't really push through. The reason why she did not turn out to be as expected is that, she was merely a visionary rather than a hands-on programmer.
Ada Lovelace, though deemed as more of a visionary is still worth emulated because of the incomparable attitude she had shown as a woman programmer. It's now rare to see a woman possessing such a passion and devotion for such a brain strenuous work. Somehow, most of the women today don't have the same traits as Ada's. They prefer light jobs(on offense) rather than those jobs that really need a lot of personal attentin and sacrifice.
Women are more focused on the details and creativity than men. Men have a better ability to analyze things than women. No wonder why most of the men are programmers because men's focus is to analyze things logically, it's like: if (cubicle = no girl programmer)
{System.out.ItatakSaBato("Company must hire a girl programmer!");}
Else
{System.out.ItatakSaBato("Boy is lonely without girl");}
Behind man's success is a woman. So, if a man is successful when a woman is there, how much more if a woman is there in the cubicle?
Anyway, legendary programmers are all male(including game developers), stereotypes of being geek or nerd is for male, and of course there is no web development or anything that is quite hard to do before. Most of it is low level programming which also include hardware engineering. Those people in IT are mostly bunch of geeky males. There are female programmers yet they are not so extreme compared to the male programmers, as they usually focus on web development and design; whereas, male programmers develop highly elaborate designs like games, firmware, drivers and other extreme development. Men are more patient in debugging codes that women. Men can survive sleepless nights and meal skips just for programs. It is also observe in colleges and high schools. Those who dominate in programming are males. Agree? Only few females love programs even though they are smart.
